Thanks! Yep, 25mm figures (Foundry, Perry, Murawski) on a 6×4 terrain. Quite enough room on the table for a good game. For our bigger game we do 8×6.

They did Sparker, they were part of the “German Division,” under the command of General Leval and assigned as the 2nd Division of General Sevastiani’s IV Corps of the Army of the Center. They fought at Talavera.

Just one more reason to get some

Thanks for the comments guys! McLaddie, we’ve been experimenting with many rulesets in the last few years, still haven’t found the holy grail. Having said that we’ve been playing LaSalle for a while now. I don’t base my stuff based on a ruleset: the rules will have to adapt to my collection, and not the other way around!

So the world still hasn’t found an equivalent to Testor Dullcote…I love it, but the spray is a problem for about 4 months a year. But nothing else seems to be as matt as Testor. I’ll probably do a test on one fig with the AP, just to see how it looks.

    Thanks!

Great idea. I find charities are a very personal choice, I would tell you to pick one that speaks to you. Im sure everyone knows you’ll pick a worthy cause and I would support whichever you pick. Your suggestion is certainly appropriate with this site.

Do you typically utilise an umpire/games master?

We try to. Didn’t use to do it but trying it is adopting it. It makes for a smoother and faster game. And the possibility of surprises…

Do you tend to play games with one regular opponent regularly?

I play with a small circle of friends. I wouldn’t call it regularly though!

How long do your games typically last or want them to last?

Around 5 hours for a real battle, 1-2 hours for skirmish games.

Do you utilise a campaign system and generate battles in that way?

Nope. I’d like to try that one day though.

    Do you design scenarios regularly?

    Yes.

Do you pick armies from an army list up an agreed point maximum for an ensuing battle and then pick or dice for terrain just before playing?

Depends on the game. We play Warhammer with pts values for example, but we never do when playing Napoleonics or most historicals. Forces are determined by the scenarios or historical OOB’s in those case. Same with terrain.

This is meant to be specific to your regular typical games, whether it be at a club or on a Sunday afternoon in a friends garage. Do you typically utilise free rules, scenarios and, army lists?

Most of the rules we use are commercial, but I’m not averse to trying free rules. I sometimes base my scenarios on free examples available online.

Are you willing to try anything at least once even if their is a cost associated?

Cost is less of a problem than time (well, reasonable cost of course)! I don’t mind trying something new and buying the rulebook for example. I’m less inclined however to try something new if I have little interest and it involves me spending time painting stuff.

Or regardless of cost, do you read blurbs, reviews and other info first before making a decision as to whether or not to give them a try?

Usually, unless I know the author or I trust a friend who’s tried them. I will read people’s opinion on forums, more than I read extensive reviews

I’m currently working on some Canaanite archers. I love the Foundry biblical range.

An eclectic collection of stuff (all 28mm, y’all 6mm painters are crazy )

    – 24 Polish infantry from Murawski Miniatures (1809 project)

    – 2 gun Polish battery from Murawski Miniatures

    – 16 Canaanite archers from Foundry

    – A cat pirate from Dark Sword Miniatures intended as a gift for a friend’s bday

    – and 5 Khorne Chaos Warriors, old Citadel and Marauder models from the 80s

A lot of stuff! Everything Marauder Miniatures from the last 80s, really, especially their Dwarfs, Goblins and Chaos. I was too poor as a lad to afford more than a few

Historically, nothing. We live in the golden age.

I mostly only play Fantasy with my brothers so Warhammer 3rd edition or the 6th with some (many) house rules. I’ve been heavily into Oldhammer the last year or so, building a Chaos army and collecting both greenskins and Dwarfs for future projects. Having said that I downloaded and intend to try King of Wars eventually, and I also recently got a copy of Armies of Arcana, which we might give a go at some point.

I just started an Oldhammer blog, for those interested : Of Marauders and Citadels

Hi Iannick, Another big name in Napoleonics on this site. You are very welcome Sir!

I’m not sure I consider myself a big name but hey, I’ll take it! Thanks Sparker! Its great to see y’all here. It reminds me a bit of another Forum I used to frequent, but circa 2004

Small suggestion : this place needs more emoticons

(Lets try this again, my last post disappeared!)

Hi from Montreal, just registered. Lots of familiar faces around here, nice to see you all! I play, paint and love Napoleonics, but I’m also working on a Biblical, FIW and TYW projects. And a year ago I caught the Oldhammer bug, big time.

I also work with Roger Murrow on Murawski miniatures.

Links to my many blogs and websites are in my signature (as soon as I figure out how to properly format it it will look much better!)

I wish the best to this place, and long may it prosper!

    Cheers,
