I’m looking to cast some semi-transparent icy sci-fi terrain. I plan on casting a lot of walls for a sort of ice-maze with those glass gems common at craft stores embedded.
I could do it with resin, but perhaps there is a cheaper casting material as it does not need any detail or even a lot of strength. As my terrain will likely fill 2 square feet when complete, cost of the material could prove significant.
This is what I’ve used in the past…
Any better ideas?

Prince August FX water effects? but it’s not cheap if you need a lot.
I have also thought about the translucent resin panel that you can find in some shops; some are very thin (but i did not try yet).

I think cost will prevent hobby water effects, but I have used a similar DAP clear silicone caulk for much the same thing. It would possibly work if I cast in layers and smeared the surface after the bulk set up.
I’m unfamiliar with “translucent resin panels.”
Thanks for the input.
