I went flying(for real this time)

It took several months for my wife to get it on order, but on Wednesday I got my birthday present, a plane ride in a Cessna 172. We flew for 50 minutes over the city of Skien and out to the coast down to the town of Kragerø, before flying over the Island of Jomfruland and back.

Here’s a 12-minute video of the actual plane ride.

Then yesterday I went into MSFS2020 and redid the ride in that simulator, it doesn’t have a 1970s Cessna 172, but it does have a Cessna 152, so I used that, as its operation and instruments was very similar. This video shows side by side part of the trip, I used 45 minutes in the simulator.

Yes, very cool. The turbulence did startle me in the beginning. But I was pleasantly surprised that the hight didn’t  bother me.
