crikey, I had not actually noticed that, maybe I should make a load of standing stones and spikes in the ground?
Yes please.
Make them BIG ๐

…trying to ensure that the scenery suitably refelects a time when two stood against many?

One who puts on his armour should not boast like one who takes it off.

I mean, it has to be fairly hardsh to fit the feel of the quote. To Wotton-under-Edge just doesn’t have the same power…

Now, there are 2 routes to follow.
Right now it has bare vines running up it.My preference would be to leave the vines bare as I would add the foliage myself with flock, scatter, lichen, leaves etc and other materials.
However I would happily spend a good number of hours doing so, leaf by leaf etc..The other option is to have an impression of leaves/foliage sculpted on, though with the limits of casting they will not be as ‘real’ looking as foliage added after.
What would you prefer, bare vines to add your own green (or indeed just leaf them bare)
Or a sculpted on impression of greenery?
See above for the cave so far, and below for a reference picture for what I am thinking of. (though obvs not that realistic)

26/05/2020 at 16:04 #137013Alexander WasbergParticipantI think leaving them bare is the better option, if you want to add things it’s easy enough to do ๐

26/05/2020 at 18:44 #137015Mike HeaddenParticipantI’d go with a suggestion of greenery. Those who just want to paint it and get it on the table will be happy with that and those who want the full, botanical experience can tart it up to their hearts content.
Perhaps that’s just me?
There are 100 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who can work from incomplete data
27/05/2020 at 01:13 #137023telzy amberParticipantArtisanal leaf making, and placing, sounds … I dunno, expensive? Also a Lot of Work for each of those bad boys you make and sell with carefully, thoughtfully, individual placed leafs* just so.
Also I kinda like the bare vines. This is the Ape Men’s bachelor pad is it not? A few empty beer bottles might add just that bit of sauciness to entice Ape Women over to a kegger
*Each Leaf is an individual and is placed in a harmonious artistic gestalt so it is Leafs rather than leaves which are just dried crumbly dead plant pieces which my wife makes me rake up each autumn.

Shows you do not need spikes and skulls to create something horrible – you know what I mean!
28/05/2020 at 20:01 #137144Geof DowntonParticipantNot sure if I’m bothered or grateful that none of them are female…

05/06/2020 at 02:11 #137577telzy amberParticipantIt’s really nice
05/06/2020 at 09:36 #137588Northern MonkeyParticipantSo here is the cave painted with no extra bits added, all you see here is just the cast model. Now, that this version is done, time to pimp it up.
This is looking awesome, any pics of the reverse side or is just blank?
