ModeratorI have started penning the lore/fluff for my 10mm WFB 3rd Edition games.
You can read the notes so far here and see some photos of some terrain I have finished.19/05/2022 at 19:18 #173294Darkest Star Games
ParticipantOooo nice. Feels like there is a lot of expanding and fleshing out you are going to do. I love this sort of fluff, gives a lot of life to the campaign.

Agreed, also allows for more meaningful little skirmishes with a dozen models per side.

Shame, still at least it is still in The Empire.

ModeratorYup, I searched for free map maker and after a short period of faffing about I made that.
I MAY go back and learn the software to make a better one, but TBH that will do.

ParticipantLatest building for Stoodhof. A house with a fancy pants privy, no buckets and lobbing it out the window for this classy family…
You just have to risk Orcs / Elves etc in your night things!
Very nice result – roof tiles are especially nice.

ParticipantHmmm. How much time faffing about did it take you to learn how to use that softwear? I need something similar for my Oathmark campaign.
We get slapped around, but we have a good time!

From opening the software to finishing, that was about an hour.
I reckon now I know what is available and how it works that a map like that is 20 minutes work or so… ?It is really easy to use (I found anyway)

ParticipantNot the best characteristics, but they’re cheap and very characterful. A full unit of 60 can no doubt take a beating and still be mildly effective (cough, cough, meat shield).

Yeah, it will take a good while for them to take enough casualties that they need to take rout tests.
Should be across the table by then and swarming enemy war machines.29/05/2022 at 11:38 #173746Angel Barracks

ParticipantHi angel barracks, I remember you from my 6mm days! I’ve been looking at 2nd ed wfb with some 3rd ed additions and a spreadsheet to manage army list/stat creation…not got very far though :0( do you fancy sharing your lovely unit cards some how? 10mm for wfb is great, I’m doing mine mostly with Warmaster originals and petreons. I’m stuck with flyers however, how are you doing them? I’m using as much 2nd ed as I can then adding 3rd and 8th where I need. ( No static combat Res in 2nd, double fight each combat (capture the flag rules)) I added in leadership countercharges for cav and beserkers and 1 use Lances. Also using the Bolt Action dice bag system makes it a bit more dynamic ( for move and fire, combat resolved at the end of the round (charge markers etc)) :0)

ParticipantAlways loved the idea of small scale Mordheim. Both warband are off to a great start though the vampire may be a bit overdressed 😁. Sets her out from the rabble of course but also makes her a big target.
Are you going to do some terrain as well?
