Hurrah!

20/11/2019 at 22:29 #126862Wouter WolputParticipantTop, I have a feeling that these will become quite popular.

So, quite realistic. 😉
Really, I don´t make any fun now – we got a really lot cobblestone streets where I live and they mostly look like that.
(Ok, don´t know if you were ironic now or not)

Ya, was trying to be a bit punny! I think they look really good, the radiused bit especially as they aren’t super sharp 90* corners like you usually see. Good stuff!

Hm, that´s a very subtle way for hunting my money 😉 🙂"In strange grammar this one writes" - Master Yoda
23/11/2019 at 01:51 #127005Wouter WolputParticipantWhat a simple change in colours can do. A very nice picture indeed.

Best post my new scheme of some other figures soon then.
So….
2020 will have a new area added to the shop, currently we have:
Simurgh
Utuseb
The Open Steppe
Heroes and VillainsI am torn between:
The Inland Sea (pirates and coastal buildings etc)
The Southern Sea (more exotic stuff, winged apes, ancient lizards, jungle terrain, etc.)I am thinking Simurgh’s buildings could be re-purposed as coastal dwellings, so maybe the Southern Sea would be best.
I could have a couple of small ships that the heroes use to get to strange lost islands and then do any random oddness that pops into my head, cos, hey, lost island innit.Your thoughts?
23/11/2019 at 09:53 #127015Angel BarracksModerator23/11/2019 at 11:08 #127017SteelonsandParticipantAh, yes, East of Kutchemes in the Great Waste….. the last vestiges of Witch-haunted Archeron……..
sounds about right!
My Vote would go with Southern Seas/Lost Islands….. Pleeeeenty of scope for your imaginationeerings there……
would definitely be nice to see more ‘creatures’ to compliment the characters you’ve so far created – dwellers in pools, dwellers in the dark, denizens of the jungle, the fever haunted swamps, etc etc……
23/11/2019 at 11:55 #127018Wouter WolputParticipantAnother vote for the Southern sea!
I love the idea of seeing all kind of strange creatures and ancient ruins hidden in dangerous jungles on remote islands. Mermaids waiting to lure in sailors from passing ships and so on.
23/11/2019 at 13:00 #127021StroezieParticipantThe Southern Sea (more exotic stuff, winged apes, ancient lizards, jungle terrain, etc.)
Ok, that’s settled then, Southern Sea it is!
Thruth be told I was always kind of hoping you would go there.
Hmm…
…might be time to start laying the keel for the Tigress then….
Cheers,
Stroezie
23/11/2019 at 13:02 #127022Thorsten FrankParticipantCurrently doing my own, still heavily Hyborian influenced, world* and try to keep it on a more “realistic” side – so my vote would go to the inland sea.
However it´s still fantasy so I go with anything coming.I don´t know if you are interested in it but the Hyrkania (eastern steppes) and Vendyha (India) regions aren´t much covered in many of the novels neither in many fantasy at all. Same goes for real life Himalaya region (Nepal, Tibet) which has some interesting implications (Hyborian Age Gurkha).
And speaking of units – in the Conan Unconquered game one of the most dangerous units is the Shem Ashuri Warrior.
So , lot´s of desert/southern stuff still to be explored. (Yes, punting for coming decades!)*Think of it as Hyboria and GoT had a baby with all the political implications. Kane is it´s uncle and Lankhmar it´s aunt.

23/11/2019 at 14:22 #127023Geof DowntonParticipantI can’t say I’m bothered which sea gets explored next, but I hope that, wherever it is, there are baboons…
…and an Amazon who flings a chakram about…
One who puts on his armour should not boast like one who takes it off.

Oh! And some eastern looking pirates and fierce black corsairs of course.
Cheers,
Stroezie.
25/11/2019 at 14:29 #127097Darkest Star GamesParticipantYour thoughts?
To me there doesn’t really seem to be much of a distinction between the two. Do all of them. ALL OF THE THINGS!!!! They do all sort of carry the same theme and could be used together.

I meant your thoughts on what sort of creatures in addition to those I listed.
😛The difference between the 2 would be that The Inland Sea would be mostly port buildings, boats and pirates.
The Southern Sea mostly odd creatures and ruins.25/11/2019 at 15:42 #127107StroezieParticipantThe Southern Sea option would also offer more opertunity to cater to those of us playing 15mm Frostgrave/ Ghost Archipelago.
Also, some southeast asian temple ruins, Ankor wat style, would be awesome!
Cheers,
Stroezie.
25/11/2019 at 16:05 #127110Geof DowntonParticipantSo are we looking at a “Scalding Jungle” extension of “Burning Sands”?
If so, jungle/rainforest creatures; monkeys, big cats, poison arrow frogs, sloths and HUGE bitey insects…
…and baboons…
One who puts on his armour should not boast like one who takes it off.

Ah, yes, well, all of those things that the others have listed, as well as those tall fellows that worshiped at that black temple ruin, the “dragons” from that one story (though I believe they were inland and not coastal related), and shrieking eels (for when people fall overboard and Fezzik isn’t there to pull them out!)

This is exactly why I got excited about Michael’s announcement. They also fill a niche in 15mm which might make them hugely popular.
27/11/2019 at 07:33 #127187ian pillayParticipantThe southern seas without a doubt! Giant apes, flying lizards, skeletons, jelly monsters with one eye and loads of tentacles…. yes the list goes on and on…. 😊

So once again, Ekwensu is responsible for adding some festive snowflake cheer to the website.
Sigh.
05/12/2019 at 22:52 #127667Angel BarracksModeratorI am experimenting with a blog about random sand and sorcery ramblings:

More to come over the next few days.

Will it have those 2 masts, or is that just for support of the sail in this sketch?

I have yet to decide…
18/12/2019 at 14:27 #128234Thorsten FrankParticipantSize is good (enough space for the minis). For the shape I can´t give an opinion (I´ve got not enough knowledge) but it looks nice.
"In strange grammar this one writes" - Master Yoda
18/12/2019 at 18:57 #128249StroezieParticipantLooking good!
Size looks about right to me.
One caveat though, if the intent is to use them to maneuver on the board, maybe do some ship to ship action, this is ideal.
If the intent is more of a shipboard battle, go big and do one ship as a gameboard.
Cheers,
Stroezie.
18/12/2019 at 19:43 #128255Deleted UserMemberI’m imagining the boat mounted on the back of a giant creature that swims through the same and Erlan standing at the bow with the reins.
18/12/2019 at 20:24 #128257Wouter WolputParticipantGreat mock-up, size looks about right and the shape is definitely shiplike 😁.
