    OOOOH they are nice.

Maybe an AAR or Rail Gun is needed?

Most figures ranges are done, because the person involved wants them himself, and then they are offered for sale. Sometimes it is done because of a perceived gap in the market (No one has done X well, and while it may not be my period I can see them selling).

That is how Angel Barracks in its current guise came about.
After getting into 6mm sci-fi I noticed no-one did sci-fi wildlife, plenty of intelligent alien races but no alien cows or dogs etc.
That annoyed me as I wanted such things for my games, so I set about getting them done.
Then I noticed that no-one did 6mm sci-fi civilians, so I set about making them.
    Then I noticed….

    and so it goes.

Sounds too Games Workshopy. If I wanted to play WHFB I’d play WHFB

I dunno WFB has what, about 10 or more stats compared to TWB’s 3?
It is also very much about big battles with lots of troops the same in units slogging it out?
    Plus it is now AOS?

That’s a very nice building and very well made by the look of it.

Did you ever see his 6mm Troy?

Just thought, do you see laser cut buildings more as a frame work than a finished ready to use model?

I like the patio style roof garden, do you have a money shot of all the buildings thus far?

It seems more skirmish than mass battles, would that be correct?

Must confess it has never really bothered me, but we all know the darker the skin the more primitive the person right?
(not my belief you understand, but could that be a factor from back in the day?)

I would be tempted to try a pale, almost translucent albino colour.

    Can’t say.
I will say my first attempt at making 6mm scale bowling pins was not good though.

Here we can see the original scavenged home that Jeff built and the later expansion which is made from stone and clay.

    Next up, the roof.

I will have a ponder and weight up the costs and what not.

In the mean time, any interest in Jurapeds wired up with explosives as remote controlled bombs?

So I started with the vehicle.
It is a printed sample that I had done.
I filed the rear wheels off and filed away a groove to add the busted up axle.
I also spent about 40 minutes sanding down the print lines.
I have made a rough base from plasticard which will house the build.
The RV is placed where I think it will be, just the rest to do.

Talking of warm, when furiously filing away at a model, the needle file can get warm, warm enough to burn your finger tip it seems.

    Tis a tricky one.

The idea of a Junker ‘tank hunter’ is appealing.
It would fit with the Junker theme for sure.
However it is also something I have been thinking of doing commercially.
So a part of me is thinking why not just wait until the proper models come out?

The abode to abide in is also tempting as you know, cos it is.
Plus it would give me a chance to show off what 6mm can really achieve, as my buildings on the site have no be easy to cast, which reduces fancy pants details.
A one off build would allow lots of un-castable detail…

I will have to have a think and will announce here which I will go for.

Well I wasn’t going to cast it up, as I am not convinced it is good enough..?

I am a Humbrol kind of guy myself.
Mostly as the local Hobbycraft stocks it.

    White for infantry.
    Brown for everything else.

    Good comparison shots.

I would class Plasmablast along with Brigade in being 1/300th and with both infantry and vehicles to suit.

I would class mine as 6mm of heroic proportions.
Mine are chunkier than their cousins and my vehicles are upscaled to fit in with the chunkier infantry.

That grey jobby with the blue energy weapons looks very cool.
    Do like.

Not quite, but pretty close. 6mm, of course.

    I must try harder then.

Also, how much do ‘Power Armoured Troopers’ differ in appearance from ‘Combat Power Armoured Troopers’, if anyone knows?

Who the hell knows. These are the same regurgitated tropes that have been stinking up the joint since (at least) the early 70s Japanese mecha operas. Pick whatever models you like and assign whatever values you think will work/be fun.

    That.

Never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that will say something about sci-FI is not realistic.
    Really, fiction isn’t real?

I am sure I have seen images of those next to other figures but can’t think right now.

    Give me a while!

Warm is a mixed blessing, resin cures faster in the heat so I can get more cast in a day, but it leaves less working time to remove bubbles.

I have started my hand at sculpting 6mm, it would appear that my attempt, which is exactly 6mm tall and in proportion will be of no use, as next to my current range it looks very small indeed.

Just goes to show how much chunkier figures the pro sculptors I use make for me.

    Cheers dudes!

It is the leader from the Junker Insurgent pack.
Or doc, the guy on the very first page of this topic..

Have you thought about making upgrade/mod packs: spare guns, dozer blades, mesh panels, comms dish, crane arm, turrets etc so we can mod your stuff ourselves?

Why yes, there was posted just today to the caster, a crane arm and dozer blade for a Pathfinder upgrade kit!
    (the ones above in fact)
I am debating conversion stuff in general though, I am not sure the market for 6mm conversions is that great is it?

I know there are some very wise people that like the 6mm skirmish and the extra level of detail that brings, but is there enough to warrant all the fiddly bits that people will not buy many of?

Now there’s an idea for a mini range………crew figures, light non bulky uniforms, gunners with helmets/flak vests etc eg, driver at open console & wheel, several gunners standing with, well….guns! Commander half figures for turrets, crew types sat at rest/travelling, general ‘tank rider’ types for ‘loading’ technicals etc…….. Just sayin’!!’

I may have a crack at that.

    For now,

    WIP of a workerbot:

Will have claws/grips on the ends and some other details etc..

Yeah, it has had an adverse effect on me I reckon.

Sounds like you are up to lots of 6mm greatness though.
I did manage to draft some rules for my new RDF attack drones though, masters of which off to the casters later this week.

I am hoping to get out of the house more and go back to the Slimbridge club on Monday nights, maybe actually play some games and that may help my mojo return.
