Northern MonkeyParticipant
I buy from all over mainly because of point 1 in the OP, points 2,3 &4 in the OP also influence me. I wont buy from company’s that are very very slow and don’t communicate well.

Northern MonkeyParticipantI would say Blitzkrieg Commander, but its maybe a little too abstract for your tastes, other than that though it meets all your other requirements.

Northern MonkeyParticipantThese are great, well done, you should contact 15mm.co.uk as they will cast them for you and make them available to buy via there SHM range

Northern MonkeyParticipantI concur

Northern MonkeyParticipantIve not really given much thought to their background other than advanced tech and warlike, the PA suits they wear are ridged so will pick up a dry brushing effect really well so im looking more for a suggestion on colours rather than anything else. Im imaging camo is redundant to this species as theyre macho bad -asses – think GW terminators, plus it means I don’t have to paint anymore(though I have tried the sponge technique mentioned by Robey to goof effect), I think im looking for something vivid and not the usual military drabs, but am a little wary of ending up with a unit of clowns

Northern MonkeyParticipantthey will be a high tech – elite strike force, the aliens themselves will have a light blue skin tone, so I don’t mind not having regular camo style

Northern MonkeyParticipantGreat AAR, my club love this game and have been running a campaign for well over a year, I think the house rules are on Kens blog here: http://yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/X%20Wing
which may be worth looking over for some additional ideas

Northern MonkeyParticipantGutted I couldn’t make it this year, thanks for taking the pics, looks like it was another great day

Northern MonkeyParticipantCant take any credit for the basing that was all my mates work, as for a name i’ll leave that to Mick at Leven as its on its way to him ready for Joy of Six

Northern MonkeyParticipantNo Problem
I have just updated the blog post with some more pics of the models in situ on a based board.
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI have the pipeline set (and a bunch of other Old Crow stuff) it is well worth the money, you get plenty of options and enough to cover a decent bit of your board, plus it works just as well for 15mm as 6mm.

Northern MonkeyParticipantthanks guys, the mine entrances are probably my favourite pieces too, im going to use the plain one for a orc/goblin cave entrance.
General, for the old wood look, I undercoated in black, and then painted it (unevenly) with Vallejo US Field Drab, before dry brushing with a Bone colour and washing with agarax earthshade (again unevenly)
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantThanks, they are painted Faded Olive with a light and uneven wash. Im planning on simply using my existing woodlands and making some cheap jungle like terrain from plastic fish tank plants, it wasn’t all triple canopy stuff over there so you can get away with little to no jungle if necessary.

Northern MonkeyParticipantDidn’t have any issues with these at all, nicely cast, clear details, lovely to paint, I am finding the helo’s a bit tricky though and was not so impressed with the casting on the skids
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI have finally finished my Ventauran force, by adding a Mech from CMG, plus added more to my Army faction with some GZG support teams

Northern MonkeyParticipantSorry for the late reply Ali, and thanks for the comparison pic, they look great for 15mm, sooner rather than later I will be placing an order with you
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantLooks great. I’d be interested depending on the price. I have to say, though, that most people I know are more interested in 28mm gaming. I’m not sure how large the audience is for a 6mm project like this. Having said that, I don’t think there are many competitors for a small footprint dungeon crawl. Good luck!
Thanks, we are trying to keep it as cheap as possible no daft prices tags! We have no idea as to the size of the audience either, and if you really don’t want to use the beautiful 6mm minis included you can easily use 10mm, 15mm and 20mm, you could probably use 28mm but they might fill the game board too much.
we do now have a dedicated page over at the Perfect6 site for those who want to keep track of developments:

Northern MonkeyParticipantreally like the look of this, I tried putting some non-serious rules together of my own but never got that far, still have the rapier chariots painted in team colours ready to go, so I will be keeping an eager eye on this project

Northern MonkeyParticipantthanks guys, I’ll see what I can do about a game report ASAP
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipanti like the idea, not sure if I would buy any, I would have to see how they turned out, does look a bit like Kenny from South Park too
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantIm using AB’s KR16 with my own forces/factions which are in an earlier blog post.
And yes the old fella is from CinC’s sci-fi civilian pack though he’s hardly sci-fi and with the right paint job would work for numerous era’s.
you can pick up GW Tyranid spores and other gribblies fairly cheap on e-bay and they work well for both 6mm and 15mm sci fi stuff
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantFinal update to this project which is now as complete as it needs to be, this time around I have done a few characters and civilians plus the last of my vehicles:

Northern MonkeyParticipantI want sure if previously posted stuff was allowed hence the two, let me know if they are and I will delete one

Northern MonkeyParticipantThis pic is of a full kit-bash, being the body of an LVTP Buffalo, gun shield and gubbins from an 88mm and gun from a 40k comms piece which I sue as an SPG for my 15mm sci fi stuff:
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantThat’s a great idea Jim, and ive got to say the perfect 6 minis are amongst the best sculpts ive seen in this scale, and despite not needing more than one I will be picking up all of Levens castles when they appear on the site!
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI would love to enter this but not got any 2mm stuff to show, shame its not open to all Brigade scales or i’d enter
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI have still never backed one, though I have been tempted on a few occasions, you seem to have been lucky in not having any issues compared to some of the stories I have read. one other thing that’s stopped me in the past is that(and I may be completely wrong on this) but I kinda assumed that by backing a kickstarter you got some sort of good deal out of it whilst helping the project get off the ground, many that I look at don’t seem to offer any real incentive.
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantto save money I use artists mounting card with milliput on top, cheap, easy and durable, a few pics of the ones I did for my 1/1200th naval stuff here:

Northern MonkeyParticipantThat’s a great summary John D Salt.
Not familiar with either but I think I would prefer a system that uses both. If an initial smack doesn’t work then attrition it is. Though I would try to maximise my chances of the initial slap working.
Impetus does this, you can finish your opponent in one fell swoop or can get involved in a long slog, one of the things I like about it over other systems I have used
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantGruntz isn’t perfect (what is?) but the core system, ie shooting, movement, assault etc is sound, the rulebook itself is poorly edited with rules and modifiers dotted here and there, and the point system only really works for low to average stat lines once you get into the elite level of stats it can easily create an unbalanced game, and some of the perks are ridiculously cheap(points-wise), saying all that I really like the rules, I like a skirmish rule set where each trooper in the squad can do their own thing, 1 goes prone, another goes into overwatch 2 more let off shots whilst 2 others dash for cover, Gruntz lets me do this without bogging the game down in too much detail
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantGruntz does everything on your list of requirements

Northern MonkeyParticipantNice work Abwehrschlacht, and very handy list too Paul
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantthis is cool and something ive never seen before (though im not really into moderns), a 6mm version would work great for my sci-fi stuff, thanks for pointing it out
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantThanks for the kind comments guys, here is a quick pic of the army so far:
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantJust got my hands on these (thanks Richard) and they are excellent cant wait to paint up my little D&D adventuring party and have a go at raiding that orc lair

Northern MonkeyParticipantLast minute entry, my current favourite faction (and on TSS tiles too), I have no idea who the Ventaurans are, I just like the minis, and they are easy and quick to paint too:
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantThanks AB, I did the camo with a small bit of sponge works like a dream, very quick and easy and a half decent result.
