Northern MonkeyParticipant
Sound really interesting and the two expansions you mention could give it plenty of variety, something a lot of board wargames lack, if they did a western Europe version i’d be in, its a shame ive never really been that interested in the eastern front

Northern MonkeyParticipantIm quite surprised that this isn’t the generic Zombie wargames rules that I expected when I first heard it announced, it looks more like Warlords version of Zombiecide

Northern MonkeyParticipantI love it when I come across finds like this, my sons toy box is forever being raided for odds and ends, just found a great little octopus that will work well for my 6mm fantasy stuff, no idea how i’ll use it but im still nicking it

Northern MonkeyParticipantAs well as the aforementioned Microworld which I am big fan of, Perfect 6 are planning some fantasy stuff which will be individual ie not strips, but for now Baccus do knights/men-at-arms. As for airships, maybe start with that yellow bit that contains the toy in a kinder egg, apply a thin layer of putty and as leathery texture to that straightened papers clips to connect it to the gondola/ship, Irregular do a nice fantasy galleon in 6mm add the kinder balloon to that and jobs a good un, you can cut me in on the royalties 😉

Northern MonkeyParticipantMiniatures: Epic, BKC, KR-16, Gruntz,, Warmaster, Impetus, Trafalgar, Rules of engagement, legend of the old west, X-wing, Wings of war- all reasonably regularly
Boardgames: Richard III(my fave by far), Forbidden Stars, Pandemic, Zombies
Xbox: just got back into this now the kids are bit older, still play my old games, GTA’s, Skyrim, Red Dead, Assassins creed Black flag, but mainly the Lego series with the kids
RPG: WFRp, Cthulhu, Victoriana

Northern MonkeyParticipantThis is really good news, Steel Crown made some really nice stuff.
And Thuseld is correct the VTOL#s are lovely need to add some more, I use them as proxies for Imperial Guard Valkyries, a few pics about half way down this blog post:

Northern MonkeyParticipantHi Mr Average, I started doing some Star wars in 6mm as a side project, there are a couple of posts on my blog about it:

Northern MonkeyParticipantWhilst Horned God is an epic and rightfully recognised as such, there is something about the early McMahon art that I really like, plus Fabry did great artwork for some of my favourite story lines(Slaine the King and Time Killer) in fact the standard on Slaine has been consistently good throughout its 30+ year run…if we overlook Bardinelli
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantThe mashed up mythology of 2000AD’s Slaine’s Tir Na Og always appealed to me as slightly different setting with its Ley-ser guns, atlanteans, Els etc
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantthis looks great, might have to give this a go as ive just started 15mm and lack terrain
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantany old stickers will work or simply print some numbers on paper and pva them on no need for fancy decals, as for doors a roundish bit of flattened putty applied t the buildings and painted would be both eacy and effective. Loving the full faction picture , nice work!
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantthese are great, really like the blue huts
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI like both of those, but for me the smaller of the two has potential for being a generic store front
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantyes, my board is green, but I want to make/buy a desert like board, but I also want to use the minis on a space hulk type board too so not sure which way to go or whether to just leave them as is
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantthanks guys, I like pennies as they add a bit of weight to the mini and they’re cheaper than MDF still need to properly base this lot but am still undecided as regards colour/texture
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantgood to see the issue resolved, im sure its easy to not notice the odd miscast amongst the thousands that are sorted
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipant… It’s for reading on the bog.
The bog is known as my throne room in our house as I spend that much timed perched on the there escaping the madness of two under 6 year olds
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantFunnily enough I have just converted an old micro-machines vehicle which is similar-ish to the pathfinder with both an excavator arm and dozer blade, great minds truly do think alike
also, love those drones, that look like they may work for 15mm too
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantName and shame I have bought 6mm stuff from at least 10 different companies and have never had this problem!
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantit was a great show as per usual, always busy and good to see a few friendly faces, didn’t spend much other than the obligatory paints/brushes though I did splash out on some nice tufts for my 15mm project
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI think it less to do with encouraging more female gamers and more to do with making it easier for men to go to shows with their partners in tow, allowing “us” to sell it to our partners as a family day/event with the bonus of no extra cost, but im cynical and have never ran a show so what do I know
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantThanks Thuseld, if you look back at an earlier post ive made a bunch more home-made stuff, it brings great satisfaction making some half decent scenery from bits of rubbish, impresses the Mrs too when I can proudly point at them at state that they cost nowt, whilst hiding the latest delivery of new shiny things!
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantHow do I insert pics, I used to be able to do it, but now whatever code from flickr (embed, BBcode etc) I put in the insert image link nothing seems to work? eg:
EDIT: So now the pics are working, this is Levens Wizards tower with a Microworld Wizard, I really am taken by this little diorama, love the models and the whole look, its somewhere I would want to live (if I were 6mm tall)
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipanthaha, you spotted them then!
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantKeep up the good work Richard, looking forward to your next batch
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantYeah, I’m with Mr Average whilst they are nice, part of the appeal of 6mm is its relatively low price
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantnice, I like the way you have based them and the skirmish line in front
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantgreat stuff, makes me regret getting rid of my 20mm ww2 collection
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI have a bunch of Scotia’s 6mm sci fi infantry non of the power suits though and the casting is fine on mine, size -wise they are very similar to CinC’s stuff which are a little smaller and slimmer than Angel Barracks stuff for eg,
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantWhy yes, there was posted just today to the caster, a crane arm and dozer blade for a Pathfinder upgrade kit! (the ones above in fact) I am debating conversion stuff in general though, I am not sure the market for 6mm conversions is that great is it? I know there are some very wise people that like the 6mm skirmish and the extra level of detail that brings, but is there enough to warrant all the fiddly bits that people will not buy many of?
no idea if there is a market for these things other than me, but 6mm scenic and building conversion packs are available (brigade &GZG) so why not vehicles, not all of us are competent enough modellers to make stowage, spare tyres, dozer blades etc at this scale
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantWhenever I try that and as im usually painting 6mm the tiny amounts of paint either on my brush or on the palette dry out in the sun before I get to apply them, besides gotta get that drink down before it warms up
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantreally like those drones/bots, what mini is that posing with the workerbot?
Have you thought about making upgrade/mod packs: spare guns, dozer blades, mesh panels, comms dish, crane arm, turrets etc so we can mod your stuff ourselves?
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantexcellent and even more promising, one more quick question if I may, do the rules support longships in anyway?
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantGood stuff im interested to see what else you come up with, if you look at my blog I have a few posts relating to my own 6mm sci-fi stuff including some home made scenic (in an earlier post) http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/6mm-sci-fipost-apoc-project-iii-scenics.html
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantWell as for upcoming projects, I want to finish my Epic armies which should be do-able and another 6mm fantasy army plus some 6mm post apoc/sci fi bits and bobs, and a very small 6mm old west project, then once they are done I will have no excuse to not go back and finish my Wotr stuff.
Alvin, im fairly seasonal with my painting too but the opposite to you, I hate sitting around painting int he summer when I can be outside with a cold alcoholic drink in hand
and Mike you really do need to get back gaming, no amount of painting, modelling, rules writing, collecting, plotting and planning make up for a good game or two
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantlol im just beavering away on my own homebrew system of Viking raiders, so this may save me the effort would the narrative side of things work if I used a small base of 6mm figures in place of one mini?
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantsorry not familiar with any US painting services, but as Paul says your hand isn’t necessary a write off painting -wise, I severed the tendons in my painting hand and was told that despite it being sewn back together it was unlikely that I would have full control, yet I have had no problems with it (he says touching wood!) turns out typing is a really good form of physio

08/12/2015 at 21:50 in reply to: A long time ago on a Blog far, far away – Star Wars – 6mm Project #35401Northern MonkeyParticipanta mate at the club has just bought some AT-ATs and Snowspeeders for X-Wing from Shapeways and whilst they look awesome on close inspection they are very granular and very expensive to boot, im waiting for this to be released and see have they match up to 6mm: https://boardgamegeek.com/image/2737534/star-wars-rebellion
My attempt at a Blog: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
Northern MonkeyParticipantI have added a few more Angel Barracks buildings and some miniatures from a number of company’s to this ongoing project, pics etc here: http://ablogofwar.blogspot.co.uk/
