ParticipantBrilliant post Robert, great piece.
But, isn’t that model a bit on the large size for you?
Iain Fuller
ParticipantCheers chaps!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantMany thanks OB, glad you liked it.
I believe Des used the scenario from one of the Fire & Fury scenario books.
It was from here: http://www.fireandfury.com/bffscenarios.shtml
Iain Fuller
ParticipantFantastic!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantSorry, didn’t see the date of the OP, couldn’t delete this!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantThanks for all the lovely comments chaps, I’ll pass them on to Des when I see him later as it was all his kit.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantThanks for this Norm, a cracking read. Looks like a great game.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantLovely looking game, great report too. Thanks for sharing it.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantIf anyone is interested, the website is back.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantNice one, cheers.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantCheers JF! The worse thing is I used to have an excel file with them in I downloaded from somewhere years ago but lost it when my old laptop died and the site I got it from seems to have disappeared now too.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantThat’s the one and what I’m getting too.
I hope it hasn’t closed down I was after using the very handy Leader stats tool on there.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantCheers for that. I used to play Challenger and OMG but we never went down the skirmish route with these rules so interesting to see them being used.
It’s also good to see that you solved the ‘tricky roof problem’ with Empire at War buildings the same way I did!

ParticipantI reckon West Ham colours are the best colours so very apt for a King.
Meggido, nice. I used to go past it on the bus quite a bit.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantMy Troop Commander at Woolwich was from 50 Missile Regt, they had Lance in ’87 as he loved going on about ‘his lovely big missile’!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantAs I am now ‘shielding’ (oh, it’s great fun – taking the rubbish out to the bins is very naughty but the only time I get to go outside!) I decided to watch Blake’s 7 again as I found it on YouTube.
Yes, some (most?) of the acting is waaay over the top, the sets are completely pony and the fight scenes have seemingly been choreographed by someone that has never been in an argument let alone a tear up I’m sort of enjoying it – there’s a good story in there and it could be quite dark if remade today.
Also, being 7 or 8 when it started the first time round I understand why my 28 year old Dad liked it so much. Jacqueline Pearce is a serious fox!
Iain Fuller
Participant“You tend to stop squandering troops and support in the quest for The Win”
Even more so when you’ve given some of them names!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantAce as usual, I’ve been loving this series and it has nothing to do with to the Vickers Mk.3 being involved, oh no, absolutely not.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantMmm, very interesting. Thanks Piers.
Does anyone know what range the figures come from?
I might resurrect my Pontic Army after all…
Iain Fuller
ParticipantI pinged Scotia an email this morning and got a reply quite quickly which was nice.
Apparently they will be up on their website for sale ‘sometime next week’.

ParticipantAny game with a Buccaneer involved has to be good!
The rest is rather spiffing too.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantThe only time this has happened for me is having got into playing ancients on the PC I now have a real ken to have a go with figures, and ancients never held much attraction before.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantLovely job and great to see the completely finished unit with their mates.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantNice looking render, but you are going to need one huge sized table to get a SP gun on it in a game!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantDave brought it down to the SLW Lardy day the other week and a friend who played them said that he really enjoyed it. He’s a big fan of Dave’s PanzerGrenadier rules so might have been already biased! I’ll be playing him on Monday so could ask him some specifics and report back if you like?
Iain Fuller
ParticipantTop Banana!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantYou’ve already mentioned AB’s and I’d stick with them – I play CoC and the fact that you can buy them in sections gives your whole platoons individual figures throughout.
Having said that I do have a few other manufacturers in my collection and would highly recommend these http://www.battlefieldminiatures.co.uk/, a bit different in style to AB but very nice.
I would also say that Xan’s lovely stuff works well with AB (have some of his old Warmodelling kit too). I have a few PSC metals and Adler 20’s too and they are also nice.
Sorry but the Grubby/Kelly’s Heroes, SHQ and CP’s that I have don’t really do it for me and have all been relegated to the reserves!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantTa DB!

ParticipantWell he is a big fan of Panzer Grenadier Dave so I thought he might have been keen to have a go! I’ll pass thanks on.
Glad you enjoyed it and many thanks to you and everyone else that came along to play it was a nice days gaming. It was good having Big Rich there too of course, although his cunning work for the Americans in the patrol phase of our CoC game didn’t help mine and Per’s Germans out at all!
We will definitely be doing it again next year.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantAfter watching some of the stunts that Rich and Nick pull on Lard TV, I think we’ll try and do without any ‘help’ Dave. I like to have a nice gentlemanly game if I can.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantI hope it is Dave, I’m quietly cacking myself though as I’m running the CoC game!
Having said that we have one spot taken in the morning game for definite but 3 more places up for grabs in that game and 4 in the afternoon one at the moment. If you are coming and are interested I can save you a spot but obviously you can just pitch up and play if there’s room. It will be set in Normandy with US vs Germans.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantThanks for that, very informative.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantGreat to see you are very close to the end now. Will we be seeing the whole collection in action at a Joy of 6 in the future?
And again, time to start on the Leipzig OOB – you’ve done a lot of the French already after all!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantI might pitch in here too if that’s ok Irishserb? I’ll be hitting my long neglected 6mm kit over the next few weeks and there will be some of the ‘rarer’ H&R and Scotia kit being painted that people might want to check out too.
Those shapeways vehicles look great, but is it only me that thinks: “Cool sweets!”?
Iain Fuller
ParticipantThat’s ok Per!
Iain Fuller
ParticipantMaybe if I wear a Fat Freddie’s Cat t-shirt and you have a copy of Storm of Steel it’d help too!
(I will be buying a badge though, very spiffing Mike)
Iain Fuller
ParticipantI’m digging this – and much prefer the ‘epic’ figures too – will be following with interest.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantFair point, but I did have my name on my t-shirt!
Next time definitely say hello, it’d be great to have a chat. Not too sure but we might be going to Vapnartak next, if not Salute or Joy of 6 next year?
Iain Fuller
ParticipantYou were standing right next to me at our game (that’s me moving the tanks) and didn’t say hello!
Lovely vid of a really great show.
Iain Fuller
ParticipantLovely looking kit you have there, and also good to see some love for H&R. I have to agree about their new infantry, they really are top notch.
